I painted Cap’n Flouro Phil at the promenade on Bondi Beach.
An Ode to Cap’n Flouro Phil
The wind in my beard
Sun on my face
The ocean for me
Is a magical place
The Story behind the Council of Flamingo’s
The Council of Flamingos are comprised of 13 flamingo’s and they are the ruling body of all flamingos worldwide.
When they meet the synergy that results is rated 4 out of 5 stars and produced great ideas like those sweet flamingo sculptures that are in peoples front yards.
They also thought of the idea for every flamingo to be coloured bright pink because before they were black in colour and no one liked them and now that they are pink heaps of people love them and they are rated in the top 5 of all time popular birds.
There is one flamingo on the council who is an associate and he is the one who doesn’t have a top hat.
To become a fully fledged member he needs to pass a series of rigorous tests one of which is completing a super hard soduku puzzle.
I painted a super fun and bright mural in the office of Neon Records in Sydney. I painted 3 characters.
There is Carl the Killer Whale, he is Antarctica’s number one DJ and he regularly spins his tunes to tens of thousands of penguins when they have their crazy penguin raves. He was the official DJ for the Happy Feet movies.
Then there is Patrick Blackbeard. Patrick and Carl met at a massive penguin rave where Carl was DJing and Patrick was waiting for the Antarctic ice to thaw so he could sail his pirate ship to warmer waters. Patrick was so impressed with Carl’s wicked beats that he partnered up with Carl to start Neon Records, the worlds premier record label for ocean animals. They now spend their days hosting huge raves in the Bermuda Triangle for all the ocean animals.
Finally, there is Nathan the Neon Lion. Nathan’s previous job was as a bridge keeper under a bridge filling in for a troll who had to take some personal leave to deal with some family issues. Now his full time gig is patrolling the door at Neon Records. Everything is going great for Nathan.
I painted this mural at Macquarie Centre in North Ryde. I painted on some hoardings which are used to hide the renovations.
His name is Rainbow Ronnie and this is his story.
An Ode to Rainbow Ronnie
He is a big Rasta gorilla chilling in the sun
Making Rasta rainbows just for his fun
In between his hands is where the rainbow goes
Sometimes its even glowing from out between his gorilla toes
He lives at a place called Rainbow Ape Bay
Where he sits on the sand making rainbows all day
You should visit it cause its a real nice place
And rainbows will always be shining on your face
I painted on the walls of Cafe La Piadina in Bondi.
Curated by Activated Walls, every month a new artists makes the outside of this cafe, which is run by 3 Italian brothers, their canvas.
I titled this piece Magical Gorillas and Diamond Thrillers.
On the side wall I painted Garth, someone said he kind of looks like Putin, I agree except Putin wishes he could grow a beard like Garth.
This is Spout Trunk Sammy, he is currently residing at M2 Gallery as part of the Art in Motion exhibition open this weekend.
An Ode to Spout Trunk Sammy
His trunk is powerful and when used right
He always wins any water fight
His skin has a weird orange hue
From eating many carrots, his favourite food
He’s the only Pachyderm in the herd
To sport a beard and not look absurd
Because of this he is the leader
The alpha male, the big chief breeder
The key points that we can take from this
Is that growing a beard is not amiss
Everyone will know that you are a man
And not a woman who is called Sam
Go to this show, it will be awesome with heaps of excellent artworks!
The original Laser Head Lance painting is available for sale in Platform72 Gallery, Oxford Street, Sydney
An Ode to Laser Head Lance
Laser Head Lance is a slippery old cat
Lives in a world of shadows covered up by his hat
The one day the wind turned from breeze into gale
Blew up his hat like a boat under sail
Those secrets within did explode out his head
And the colour of his hands were a deep shade of red
His secrets revealed that he’d been quite bad
And the fallout was severe and the people were mad
Oh how the mighty have fallen and the proud do stumble
Now Laser Head Lance is humbler than humble
This is a painting of six round zombie heads.
They are round like an orange or a bowling ball.
Some are happy, some are sad, some are tired and some are bad,
some are whistling and some are poking their tongue out and one of them has a mo-hawk.
Their teeth are sharp and i wouldn’t like to meet them in the dark.
See you next time.
When i look at the Scary Hairy Frogman so many many questions arise, such as:
-why is the Frogman hairy? Typically frogs are hairless creatures. Is this some new mutant breed of creature, half frog and half hairy man?
-why does a Frogman need an umbrella. Frog’s love the water and often live in its cool embrace? Perhaps he is sheltering from the ozone hole.
-why does a Frogman wear dress shoes? Frog’s are typically casual creatures, even Kermit who hosted his own television show didn’t wear shoes much less shoes as stylish as the Scary Hairy Frogman. Perhaps he is a frequenter of dancing clubs, we do not know.
-why is one of his arms much longer than the other? Is this a birth defect or just bad penmanship or even a mutation due to his frequent use of aforementioned umbrella.
-why are his nipples x’s. This is odd and we do not have the time allocated to explore this issue further.
-when i look at his mouth i wonder if he whistling or going in for a kiss or going ooooh!
I have adequately demonstrated there are many questions unanswered. If you are able to answer any questions please contact me immediately. If you remain curious i advise you to subscribe to my blog by inserting your email address into the top left corner of this page. All will be revealed in due course.
Long live the Scary Hairy Frogman!
Here is a poem I wrote inspired by the Cosmic Egg Head Man:
The boundaries of the mind
Can translate to the face
Take care what you think
Everything finds its place
Here is another little poem:
The cold winds of space
Is where you’ll see the face
Of the cosmic egghead man
And his master race
I drew a skull and then waved my wand and multiplied it in many beautiful colours and inversions
This is the resultant creation
Skulls are cool
I drew some creatures with many eyes to thee
What you do they shall see
There’s an eagle, a feline and a man as well
There is no fish or a dog or bell
This is a picture i painted of an owl. When Pearl sees it she says ‘toot toot’.
I wrote a poem from the perspective of the owl.
I’m an owl, in the darkness i prowl
I love to eat meat, that’s my kind of feast
When i grab some mice they usually die of fright
When i see a mouse that’s when i pounce
My eyes are lazy but my neck is crazy
It turns 270 degrees up in them trees
When i hang with my buddies people call us a study
A group of owls is also called a parliament or a wisdom. I thought that was interesting but found it too hard to incorporate into the poem. If you can rhyme that little tidbit drop me a line and ill add it into the poem.
This is a drawing i did of Mr Monster man hanging from a cloud but the cloud got really angry (as you can see from his eyes which are tilted inwards) and decided to zap him on the noggin with some high voltage electricity. Now this really stung Mr Monster man and you can see he is not really having much fun in this instance but he is determined to hold on so he didn’t let go. Maybe he was hitching a ride somewhere on the cloud and floated up to the currents high in the atmosphere and if he let go he would fall to the ground with a great big thud and maybe sprain his ankle. Pearl drew the little monster man in the corner. She has some talent.
