Mulga enjoyed visiting sunny Queensland to paint this fun dolphin mural at Burleigh Heads State School. The mural took him 2 & half days to paint and he managed to go for 3 surfs while he was there. Mulga named the mural 'Sunny the Surfing Dolphin'.
The white fin of the dolphin was a special request from the school and is a tribute to the dreamtime story of Gowanda. Dreaming stories speak of cultural hero Gowanda, a white-haired man who provided for his tribe by training dingos to hunt alongside them. Local lore says after he passed away, he returned as a white fin dolphin and children spotted him splashing in the waves at the Main Beach.
